Also known as sweet orange, this essential oil gives a unique bright fruity smell for a rejuvenated and youthful feeling. Orange Oil is produced from cells within the rind of the orange fruit Citrus sinensis, which are in fact the oranges we are all accustomed to eat. Once considered to be the “Fruits Of The Gods”, oranges are even pictured in the story of Hercules and Titan Atlas as the ‘golden apples’.Throughout history Orange Oil has been recognized and used through the Mediterranean region as well as regions such as the Middle East and Indian. In China, the orange is believed to symbolize good fortune, which makes them not only a popular ingredient in medicine, but also a traditional offering as a gift.The orange tree has come to be known as the oldest and most commonly cultivated plant and fruit in the world. Orange Oil is a by-product of orange juice. The whole process involves the fruit being pressed to squeeze out the juice and essential oil from the pulp.
